We’re wanting to inspire you again this week and have been looking through the galleries for inspiration.  This week Stephanie and I had a tough time narrowing down to our featured layout.  We had several we really loved, but we were blown away by Amy (AKSheridan) and her Just Wasting Time layout.

We loved her use of multiple photos, the black and white conversions, and the sweet little expressions she captured.  Make sure to check out her gallery for more inspiration.

 Gooooood Morning Digiland!!!!

Have you heard the saying, “It’s the little things that matter.”?

Well my post today is about a little person who changed a whole lot of people!

This gorgeous little beauty is Grace, daughter to the amazingly talented and kind scrapper, Erica (pne123). Erica is not only part of my CT, but I’m also fortunate enough to call her my friend.

Erica’s sweet Gracie was diagnosed with a Hypothalamic Hamartoma (HH), an extremely rare tumor deep within the brain. With HH, the tumor causes seizures, in addition to other major issues, and for Grace, the only chance for a seizure free life was to have a very invasive surgery.

As a team, we wanted to do something special for Erica & Grace….so we came up with the idea of a Color Book! We each made special pages that I then printed off and put together in an album. It arrived to them just before they had to leave for their roadtrip to the hospital! YAY!

Here’s a peek at the album…. (sorry for the grainy resolution!)

On April 20th 2007, Grace had surgery in Phoenix, Arizona.  They were able to remove 90-95% of the tumor, but she ended up with complications from surgery and spent nearly two months in that hospital before being transferred to a hospital closer to her home in California.  On June 21, Grace finally made it back home and since then is continuing on her road to recovery.

Although she’s been seizure-free since surgery, she continues to deal with complications (excessive weight gain and Diabetes Insipidous) from surgery, but doctors are hopeful these will resolve over time. 

Erica was kind enough to keep the world updated on Grace’s progress throughout their LONG stay in the hospital…..and her strength never stopped amazing me. As a mother who has also had to watch her baby endure various proceedures in the hospital, it truely hit home for me…. you have my undying respect and admiration Erica! Thank you for sharing Grace’s story and for changing so many of our lives! {mwah!}

Happy Monday morning, gang! wyowomanKristin with you today The mornings here in northwest Wyoming definately have that fall snap in them - already! And then with school starting, that rush to get out the door in the morning replacing the lazy slow start of summer mornings - I feel so energized! So let’s embrace fall, shall we?

One of my favorite things to do is browse magazines for color combos that excite me. Martha Stewart’s magazines in particular. Her people are some of the ‘kickingest’ graphic artists, imo. This page comes from her mag Blueprint, but it’s a JCPenney ad, so probably didn’t come from ‘her people’ LOL.

There is so much in this ’simple’ photo that makes my fingers itch to open up Photoshop. The colors of course - an awesome green and brown combo is aways A+ in my book. This kiwi green is a tad brighter I think for this fall’s go-around. Also notice the straight lines of the furniture laths contrasting with the wavy lines of the bedding. The circle patterns of the bedding? the jumbo white floral print on the pillow? mmm… Even look a little closer — how about just those colors of the flowers on the nightstand? With the green and brown combo, they are a small but significant punch of color. And on their own with an otherwise mostly cream and white page? You can picture that by looking at them with the wall, window treatment and lamp. And don’t over look the rug. It’s a work of art itself. Brings to mind a neat design of color blocking for a scrap page., doesn’t it?

Happy Friday everyone!!! It’s Steph here, and I don’t know about everybody else but I am so glad the weekend is here!  With that said..I want to end the week with our very first edition of You Rock! Our way of showcaseing a talented individual who rocked a layout with Lauren’s goodies!!! When I look through the galleries I am always in pure amazement of the talent that all you digi-gals have…In my eyes you all rock.

Okay let’s get to this week’s You Rock! layout… Being a clean and simple scrapper (well I guess that has kinda changed since I turned to the digi world) I was drawn to this amazing layout by Garynka (Gabi). A wonderful but simple layout using Lauren’s Create Wings kit. Such adorable pictures that go so well with all the pink and black.. And we all gotta love touching mommy journaling… You rocked it Gabi!!!

One thing I really like to stress is being GOOD to others, staying positive and UPLIFTING others…. in a world full of negativity, competiveness and general chaos, it’s nice to have a little kindness boost, isn’t it?!
