Hey everyone. This is my very first blog post as a member of Lauren’s team and I am thrilled to be able to provide you with some mojo this sunny Monday morning.
I recently returned from Australia, having spent a couple of weeks visiting my parents and taking my son to see some kangaroos. Little did I know that I would stumble across an incredible source of inspiration at a tiny public gallery in a town of 10,000 people.
The gallery looked generic enough until we walked through a black curtain and were presented with an amazing maze of net and paint, all created by an artist by the name of Asher Bilu. (Now before I go on I should say that I know you are not supposed to take photos in art galleries but I did ask before I started snapping ;).
This photo shows the entrance to the “maze”. It’s hard to see but I hope it gives you an idea of the black and white cascading nets plastered with paint. An information panel said the artist was inspired by astronomy.

A couple of shots taken from a few feet away show the complexity of the design.

The following photos are close up shots that show the intricacy of the patterns.

I hope you are as inspired as I am by this amazing piece of artwork. I have plans to use the design as inspiration for a black and white LO not to mention the textures and patterns that definitely have my creative juices flowing.
If you are inspired to create a LO based on these images, please link us up. We’d love to see the results.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Kelly here to bring you some layout goodness. The weekend is finally starting up, which means it’s time for this week’s You Rock layout. I love going through galleries, searching out inspiration, seeing all the gorgeous designs from the amazing digi-scrappers in this community. And really, because it is just so so hard to pick one layout that showcases Lauren’s designs so beautifully…. I cheated and picked two
My first choice is this fabulous layout by Mikkel Paige that I saw in the Oscraps gallery. I absolutely love how she has used Lauren’s Create Wings kit. The frame set on a diagonal is just so appealing, and i love the scattering of buttons and those bright blue butterflies against the dark pink background. Just gorgeous!

To see her credits and to leave some love, see here
The second layout I chose is by Tara Forbes. I think she totally rocked Lauren’s 365 Remembered February template/kit. I love the photos she chose to highlight this month of her family’s life. Totally candid, and totally fun. She has definitely scrapped a layout that she and her family can cherish forever.

Her layout can be found here at DST.
Ok, that’s it for me, I’m off to enjoy my weekend, and hope all of you do the same! Happy Scrapping!!!!

Aud here, coming to you on a Thursday morning — a rainy Thursday morning (yay!) Now if only Fall would make an appearance, I’d be thrilled…
I’ve been lucky enough to work with Lauren’s designs since early in her design career, and she’s never failed to come up with products that make me excited and ready to scrap. This girl’s just talented — she can take the most basic of materials and combine them in a way that never fails to get my mojo movin’. This week’s Product Spotlight is no exception — and combined with the start of school and aisle upon aisle of supplies in every store — well, I’m waxing nostalgic. (Okay, okay, enough punning around.)
Yep, I’m talking about the Waxy Do’s and the Waxy Alpha, both available at Scrapartist:

I love being able to duplicate the look of crayon doodles on my layouts — and the variety of doodles (from scribbles to words to shapes) makes it easy to find just what I need to finish off my latest page.

Happy Monday everyone and Happy Labor Day! It’s hard to believe Labor Day is already among us… which only means one thing-Summer is coming to an end. The back-to-school clothes are all neatly folded, the fall decorations are slowly starting to appear and here in Minnesota the weather is starting to cool off.
I am sure I am not alone in saying that I have tons of summer photos and scrapbook layouts to catch up on as the summer comes to a close. This week I encourage you to get caught up on all those Summer of 2007 photos and memories by creating some great multi photo layouts. Plaster those pages with tons of photos!!! Here’s some great inspiration to get you started…
-Pick lots of photos and journal about all the special places you and your family have visited this summer.
-Create a massive photo collage layout of all your favorite summer photos.
-Scrap and journal about how Summer of 2007 was different from all other summers.
and some great summer quotes…
-Summer afternoon-summer afternoon…the two most beautiful words in the English language.-Henry James
-Something wonderful happens in summer when the sky is a heavenly blue.-Frank Sinatra
-There shall be eternal summer in the grateful heart. -Celia Thaxter
Another great way to scrap all those Summer of 2007 photos in a flash is using Lauren’s awesome 365 Remembered Series. Great kits and templates all ready for those summer months… You can find them all at Scrapartist.

Happy summer scrapping… and make sure to link us up with your layouts that you create!!
