Wow.. The weekend has already flown by..And another Monday is upon us. My inspiration for you this Monday is a helpful site when you are in need of what colors to use for a layout. I know I sometimes have photos that are so multicolored that I do not know where to start when it comes to choosing a palette for the layout. This site allows you to download your photo and it generates a color palette for you.. How cool is that!!

Here’s a photo of my cutie pie daughter that I downloaded to the site…

and here’s the color palette that they chose…color palette

Go ahead and give it a try here.. Color Palette Generator

Have a great week everyone!!

This week’s You Rock pick is from “Shelly”. I just love the simplicity of this page. The photo is so sweet and she picked just the right amount amount of embellishment to make it pop. I also love the background paper from Lauren’s Create Wings kit. It is one of my favourites and adds so much depth to the page.

You can leave some love for Shelly over at My Scrapbook Art.

Thanks for dropping by.

Nicole.

One of my favorite things about being on Lauren’s creative team is the friendships I’ve gained. We have shared lots of laughs…and shed some tears together, too. It really is a great group of women on the team, and I feel so lucky to be a part of it!

Many of you know, my little boy Miles passed away when he was three months old from complications from prematurity. I have been working really hard on completing his scrapbook, but I would find myself so emotionally drained after doing a page. I asked the girls on Lauren’s team to see if any of them would want to scrap a page. I was overwhelmed and amazed at the response…and I treasure each of these pages more than they will ever know!

(We’re having technical difficulties w/ Slide, so click HERE to view the los!)

Aren’t those pages gorgeous? I am so much closer to finishing his book…and while it is sad that I feel like another chapter closes in the life of Miles, I look forward to being able to share is memory with others when they look at his book!

Thanks again my friends for all of your help! I love you all!!!

Howdy people! Another Monday here already, I hope it treats you well. Maybe a little inspiration will get you going? I’ll try to at least amuse you for a moment or two. I found today’s inspiration at Graphic-ExchanGE , a site that you can easily get sucked into, there’s a lot of eye candy there. Lately I’ve been finding myself really drawn to graffiti, poster and CD art. One of the links led me to todays pick. When I came across this I said…..wait for it…

A-HA! (lol)

I for one didn’t even know they were still around and I did double check to make sure that this was the group I remember from my junior high days. For all you young things I’m sure you can find the “cutting edge” video of “Take On Me” on Youtube. I think I may even have that particular album on actual vinyl! Before I get too sidetracked on my trip down memory lane…I’ll show you a bit more. You can see the entire set unitdeltaplus.com

Today I’m feeling like I need a shot of funk and whimsy and these fit the bill for me. I really like the brush work, the way bits of textures were added to very graphic layouts as well as the use of color.

Thanks for spending a few minutes of your day with me. Check out some of the other cool links at Graphic-ExchanGE and have a fabulous day. Until next time…..xoxo Keely

Kelly here :) The weekend is finally under way, and I could not be more excited because Sunday is one of my special days…my anniversary, seven years of love and goodness here! And with the weekend comes another edition of YOU Rock! Browsing the galleries is always so amazing. The talent in our community is just crazy. Earlier this month, I came upon this gem in the MSA gallery and just knew it deserved the spotlight:

Anacal made this layout in tribute of her mother’s birthday, and though I can’t read the journaling ;) it says in her description that the journaling is about all the things she misses of her mom since they live so far away from each other. Using Lauren’s Hot Momma to Be kit and Hoopdee Alpha, Anacal has made a layout that is both gorgeous and sentimental. I love the blocked design and the combination of black and white and color photos. Her use of so many different colors and patterns just delights me. And I just love layouts that tell a story through photos like this one does. You can check out Anacal’s layout here :)

And don’t forget you still have 4 days left in the latest Hump Day lift challenge! A gift card to Lauren’s Oscrap store is up for grabs!

Hello dear blog readers.  I hope I’m doing this all the right way.  My dear  Lauren set me up with this here fancy blog password so I can be hip like the young ones on her team and post on the blog.

I assume that maybe you would all like to know a little about me as the article in the newsletter was a little on the light side.  My name really is Dott, and please do not call me Dorothy, as Dorothy is my mother, god bless her.  I have been married to Gerald, my high school sweetheart for going on 50 years now.  We  have six children all grown with children of their own.  I will have to share some fun little stories about them all at some point.

As it mentioned in the newsletter I’m a bit of an advice guru, I am not sure how that came about.  Gerald just told me to says it is  because I’m a nosey old biddy who likes to put in my opinion at any give chance.  But do not worry dear readers, I just whack him with my walking stick and told him to be quite.  I think it actually all came about because I have a bit of the Gift in me, right from an early age I could tell people what was going to happen and the right choices to make.   Now I know some of you will be rolling your eyes at the computer screen.  But really I do.  I can’t see dead people or tell you what lotto numbers are going to come up next week but I can tell you where that lost shoe is by the way Katie darling, ring the taxi company you left it in the cab on the way home last week.

So yes.  If you have any questions for me feel free to drop me a line anytime at auntydott@gmail.com  and who knows you might see a letter from you in one of Lauren’s future Newsletters.  Which by the way I can tell you all the upcoming newsletters are going to be jammed pack with lots of greatness that you will not want to miss out on.   Trust me - I’m psychic.  Okay, that has nothing to do with it. I’ve just been able to sneak a look at what the girls are working on for the next issue!

We can all say that we have been deeply touched by at least one person in our lives, but for the last couple of weeks myself, Lauren and the rest of her creative team have truly been touched in more ways than one with the story of two remarkabley strong women.

Our latest “RAKlift” project involves a very special digital gal by the name of Melissa Lewis (mlewis) and her younger sister Becky. We were all inspired by this story of two amazing strong women and the journey they are facing.  Melissa’s sister Becky was diagnosed with breast cancer this past spring and has recently undergone surgeries and chemo at the young age of 29.

As a digital scrapper Melissa has flooded her gallery with amazing layouts created with pictures of herself and Becky, along with the three beautiful boys they have. Melissa has also got Becky started on digital scrapbooking and we look forward to praising her work.

Here are a few of Melissa’s gorgeous layouts…

As a team, with the greatest effort, we chose to lift the spirits of both of these young women!! And what a better time than October as it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

We were all inspired by the beautiful pictures and stories on Becky’s blog and decided we would hi-jack some of her pictures and create these…
