As a mom of a three-year-old daughter who LOVES books, I am always inspired when we head to the local library or bookstore to pick up some new reads for storytime. Sofi (and I) are drawn to books that have whimsical and colorful designs with bold graphics and text. Sofi is also a fan of interactive books that flip up or light up or have texture.
One of our favorite illustrator’s is Hiroe Nakata. I love the soft colors and playful scenes! Click here for even more examples of her art.

Another favorite is Sandra Boynton. I used to collect her stickers when I was just a girl! We have dozens of her hilarious board books….here are some of my favorites:

So the next time you find yourself mojo-less, head to the children’s section of your library or better yet, your child’s bookshelf, for some colorful inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by!

I was just reading “The Human Race” book by Jamie Lee Curtis. This post made me think how cool it would be to try some of the fun color combos on a LO! Thanks!
