I know many of you out there are just like me….former paper scrappers who have dove head first into the digital world, and are left with a wealth of pretty, and pretty expensive paper scrapping supplies that aren’t getting any use. You can’t throw them out because 1) they still look pretty and 2) you paid a lot of money for them.
So what’s a scrapper to do? Well you can brighten the lives of people less fortunate, that’s what you can do! I’ve found that in my local community, there are a lot of options for donating craft and scrapbooking supplies for people who can really appreciate them. My personal favorite organization is Crayons to Computers ( http://crayons2computers.org/ ), a non profit organization that functions as a “free store” for teachers that teach in impoverished schools in my community. C2C has branches in several cities across the country, so check and see if there is one in your area.
If not, plenty of other places will be thrilled to accept your donated supplies, like the local Children’s Hospital, women’s shelters, churches, and senior citizens centers. And don’t forget, there are always your local schools. In these days where money for extras just doesn’t exist and teachers are buying supplies out of their own pockets, I’m sure they’d appreciate some yummy scrap goodness.
So what are you waiting for? Share the love today! Scrap supplies should be used and loved and not just hoarded!
