Hello, it’s Keely here, today I’d like to take a few moments to shine a light on someone who radiates herself. I’m talking about Renee, aka Renee82.  I’ve know Renee for a good while now, I’ve been scrapping with her for years and I count her as one of my girls, a friend, though we’ve never met face to face. She is a wonderful scrapper, she puts heart into every page. Off the page, she’s a really fun, down to earth, kind person. I like to think of her as being very exotic, being from Canada and speaking French and all LOL. I could go on and on. Instead I’ll show you one of my favorite Renee creations and let some other folks chime in. Love ya’ girl! XO

Karen-Renee is such a sweet person, and her sense of joy comes through the screen whether you’re looking at her pages or getting to know her in a forum. I love that she does such an amazing job of capturing the little moments of her family’s life. I feel very privileged to have gotten to know Renee better since joining Lauren’s team and hope she knows how special she is to some of the friends she’s never met in person!!

Jen-Over the last few months, Renee has had some big life decisions to make, and she always, always, always puts her family as her first priority. She is loyal, devoted and loving, and I enjoy seeing how her scrapping reflects her heart.

Lauren-I love this lo for a few reasons… first because i VIVIDLY remember that feeling of being awake w/ my own babies and feeling as though i was the ONLY person awake! second because it totally captures renee’s “keepin’ it real” way…… it’s like having a true sister around all the time! Renee, you’re the best! Thank you for supporting me for SO LONG and for always being here for all of us… it’s such a pleasure to know you! xo

KellieP-I just love the way Renee truly captures the real moments in her layouts. I’m constantly amazed by her journaling! Plus, Renee and I have developed quite a sweet friendship & I’m so thankful that through my hobby of digi scrapping, I have found such a treasured friend.

….and their pick

Erica-Beyond Renee being a wonderful person and friend, I’m always inspired by her layouts. Her love for her family and the importance they have in her life shines through in both her photographs and journaling.

Robin-It has been lovely to get to know Renee. She is a great team member and a totally fun person to “chat” with smile.gif She is dedicated to her family, and it has been exciting to watch it grow from one child to two, and from one location to another. Hugs to you, Renee!

Steph-Renee was one of the first Digi-gals I met and we have been the greatest of friends since. We have shared the journey of a pregnancy together, the troubles of 2 year olds and just great laughs and it’s hard to believe we have never really met. She has the biggest heart and a great concern for others. I am truly blessed to have a great friend like Renee!

Thanks for joining us today, if you “see” Renee, give her a wave and stop by her gallery for some wonderful inspiration.

Happy National Junk Food Day (NJFD)! What’s that? You didn’t know it was National Junk Food Day?? You actually had never heard of this craziness? Teehee! Me, either, but I thought it was the perfect jumping point for a fun LO about your secret love of skittles, your daughter’s sweet tooth, or your husband’s need for Barbeque chips (can you tell I speak from experience here?) We all know that eating is supposed to nourish our bodies with nutrients… yea, yea, yea. Sometimes, a girl just needs some junk food! What better day to indulge than today, the official national holiday for junk! For more inspiration regarding National Junk Food Day, go here!!

I don’t know about you, but music runs through most of my life in one way or another. Sometimes it’s just the background noise to a random daily activity. Sometimes I find myself seeking out a certain type of music to fit the mood I’m in. Sometimes I browse iTunes just to see what new sounds I can discover.

On days that I’m looking for inspiration while scrapping, I often find myself searching out the lyrics of songs I love. I actually write for a living, but there are times when I just can’t seem to find the words to express exactly what I’m feeling. There are also those songs that speak to me and make me deal with emotions that, once scrapped, help me cope or bring me joy.

In my searches for particular lyrics, I find LyricsAndSongs.com does the best job of listing obscure songs or artists with great accuracy.

If you need a mojo kickstart, why not try browsing sites with lyrics or quotes and see what you stumble across. I’ve yet to try it without getting at least a page or two out of the deal.

Be sure to leave us a comment if you end up scrapping a page with some favorite song lyrics. We’d love to see what you create!

Stephanie here.. Bringing you some cute hybrid goodies. I have come to realize that you can use digital designs for just about anything!!! Especially if you have a extremely crazy creative mind like myself.. This morning I wanted to share two recent projects that I have been working on using the fabulous Lauren designs!!!

I can’t enough of these cute hair clippies that I have made for my dear daughter.  At first I was making them out of regular fun fabrics but was always having a hard time finding stuff to match certain outfits. Then I got to thinking.. “Hey.. that paper from Lauren’s new kit would match perfect“. Then it all began.. I was making clippies like crazy with every paper you can imagine!!!

They are so fun and pretty simple to make.

You’ll need the following items..

  • plain white or light colored fabric
  • iron on transfer paper
  • a covered button kit (available at Joann’s or Michael’s. I used 7/8″)
  • craft wire
  • hair clippies

I started by printing off 2″ squares using some of Lauren’s papers onto Iron On Transfer Paper. Then simply followed the iron on directions and transferred the squares onto my plain fabric. Then covered the buttons with the custom fabric using the button kit. I adhere the hair clippie to the back of the button using heavy craft wire. Simple as that! You can go crazy with all the fun digital papers out there..

I made the following with Lauren’s Country Club Reject papers (pink heart paper), Bashful papers ( polka dot) and Create Wings papers (flowered paper). I also chose to add a “P” using text to one of them to create a monogram style.

The next project I want to share I have been raving about to all my friends. The Target here in town is completely sold out of the albums I have made that many!

I always get together with friends and family and always kick myself for not bringing current pics of the kids. Or I do bring some along and they end up getting smashed and bent when they are thrown in my purse. I found this little card wallet on the end cap at Target and knew it was the perfect solution to my problem.

(And I wasn’t the only one as I saw another gals blog that had the same idea the day after I had made mine..;))

I simply made my own little brag book by creating small pages (3 1/4″ x 2 1/8″) to insert into the wallet. Then used additional Lauren goodies to simply decorate the outside. I didn’t want too much on the cover in worries that it will again get jumbled around in my purse.

Cover created using Lauren’s Tranquil Escape Collaborative kit available this month at Catscrap. Inside pages using various Lauren Kits available at LDD.

The wallet contains 10 sleeves, so it will hold 20 pages front and back.

You’ll have to stayed tuned in the next couple weeks for more of my crazy hybrid ideas!!

Have a great day!

Stephanie

Lauren and the girls on her Creative Team are always on the lookout for someone in the digiscrapping world who is going through a tough time and is in need of a little sunshine to brighten their day.

This week we would like to send some good wishes out to a very special person in the Digi world - the fabulous Miss. Darcy Baldwin!

The team has lifted a few of Darcy’s layouts in an effort to send some good energy her way and hopefully make her day a little brighter. Those of you who know Darcy through digiscrapping would agree that she definitely deserves a little special attention. :)

Karen lifted Darcy’s LOVE page.

Erica lifted Monkey Cheese

Robin lifted First Popsicle

Alice lifted Did Someone say Birdies?

I (Nicole) lifted Hot Chocolate

Renee lifted Cherish

Kelly lifted Catnap

Stephanie also lifted Catnap

Kellie lifted Monkey Cheese

Keely lifted Sick

Jen also lifted Monkey Cheese

And Lauren lifted Did Someone Say Birdies

Darcy, we hope this lifts your spirits a little and lets you know that while you are spending time helping others, there are a bunch of people sending good thoughts your way!

With love-
Nicole, Lauren & the whole LRD Creative Team
